Those of you who have a CSP certification, is it worth it?
I was looking through some of the requirements for the CSP and wanted to poll the community to see if it’s worth pursuing. For those of you who have their CSP, do you guys maintain it?
Here’s the guidance form the BCSP:

Do you feel like having the certification helps elevate your knowledge of workplace safety, or is it simply a metric to help negotiate salary?

Hi, yes id say it's a worthwhile investment. I have been offered more opportunities becsuse of it and I'm glad I went through the process. If you're deciding CSP versus CIH, consider the CIH. More higher level corporate positions are available.
Recertification process is tough if your company doesn't have a budget for professional development.

I've applied to a number of higher paying jobs over the past couple years, and missed out on some - I don't have my CSP and I feel like that's a factor which contributed.
I've also had jobs offered to me which are contingent upon me receiving my CSP within the first year of hire (didn't end up taking them)
Almost all the six figure positions want to see the CSP along with like 5/8/10+ years of experience
I would agree most of the comments on here. Pursuing the CSP is a great opportunity and for those that know what it is are looking for it when hiring. I also feel it gives you that extra credibility and edge on your fellow interviewees. Shows dedication for the intial investment and the purpose for continued education because first you need to study to get it. Then you need to maintain it by building CEU's which is also keeping up with training and educational seminars.

It is a demonstration of your commitment and achievement with regard to the profession. A big YES, on importance of getting and maintaining your CSP.
