Confined space rescue drills
How often are you guys doing them, and who do you include with the drills?

We do them 4 times a year and one of them we include the fire and rescue teams. This way we are all on the same page.

This is a great topic, David. When I was a career firefighter, we practiced confined space rescue drills at least monthly. However, we were responsible for rescue operations for the majority of metro Louisville's suburban areas. If you're in a rural area, you may check with your local fire department. Nearly 75% of all fire departments in the U.S. are completely volunteer, but even some career departments only practice once a year since that's all that is legally required by OSHA.
